Tensions are running high on the University of Vermont campus because of bonuses paid to administration officials.
Faculty and students protested last week when President Dan Fogel announced $11 million in budget cuts, including numerous layoffs. Now the faculty union is circulating a list of bonuses reportedly paid to senior administrators over the past three years.
The union says the list came from an anonymous whistleblower. The totals have not been confirmed but, according to the list, 14 administrators shared $264,000 in bonuses in the current fiscal year.
Faculty members plan to question President Fogel about the bonuses at a campus forum on Thursday afternoon.
